John Franklin Johnson, Colonel USMC (Ret) June 16, 1929 – Apr. 13, 2013 Resident of Lincoln, CA Born in Oakland, CA on June 16, 1929 to Stefan and Helga Johnson who emigrated from Iceland. Saddened by his loss is Lillian Ceruti, his long time companion, his loyal dog Beppo and his surviving children by Marianne Pomeroy: Gregory, David, Jennifer, Stefanie, his 8 grandchildren and 4+ great grandchildren. John dedicated his life to serve. He was a Korean War veteran and was honorably discharged after 27 years in the Marine Corp. His service to the community was extensive and included Semper Fi, Toys for Tots, Lions, Elks and other service groups. His many friends will hold the memory of the a man who was a joy, an incurable optimist and loved by all. He enjoyed family, travel, golf, parties and playing his ukulele. John’s laugh, smile and sense of humor will be missed but never forgotten.
