In Memoriam — Carolyn Magliulo

Carolyn Magliulo, a long-time Italian Club member and recent Historian on the LHIC Board of Directors, died December 9, 2023, in San Rafael. She was 79.

Carolyn was born in San Francisco on March 20, 1944. She graduated from California State University at Chico with a BS degree in Education. She became a long-time dedicated educator and school administrator for more than 40 years in Sonoma County, Petaluma, and later Mendocino County.

At her home in Redwood Valley, she grew grapes and made wine with her nephew. She also enjoyed painting, hosting Italian meals at her home, and tending to her garden of vegetables and fruit trees. She loved traveling with family and friends. She was “Auntie” to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Carolyn moved to Lincoln Hills in 2017 where she enjoyed swimming, tennis, golf, pickleball and bocce ball. As the historian and a member of the LHIC Board, Carolyn was always willing to share her thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. The Board will miss her presence, and her commitment and dedication to the club.

Services for Carolyn were held March 15 in Petaluma. Donations may be made to the Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa in support of tuition assistance for school families.
